Me and my 600 Bandit in Calais
600 Bandit goes to France for a short break. June 2004. Our first trip abroad on a bike for me and my wife Wendy. It was also our first long trip since owning the Bandit.

This has to be one of the best rides I've been on, and was one of the things I'd always talked about doing, which made it all the more interesting. So for our biggest adventure yet, we set off and made the 220 mile trip from Derbyshire to the channel tunnel in Folkestone, we booked a summer special offer on the Euro tunnel website which cost us £50 for return ticket, what a bargain!!!.

The best road we found was the D940 from Calais heading towards Boulogne-sur-Mer, a coastal route which has some spectacular views and takes you through a variety of scenery, from cliff edges to bays, up and down short steep hills and poppy fields with very tight twisting bends in places, next minute you are riding through sand dunes, Awesome stuff!!!  We then made our way to an old Victorian seaside town about 20 miles south of boulogne called Le Touquet-Paris-Plage.
